ALL ABOUT ROOT.

What is rooting. It means to gain access over your android system. It means to unlock it and to use your device as administrator . in computer root means to have access over your system file and in android also it means so.
The most common reasons to root your devices is to remove unwanted application, to change font of your system, to remove adds like in many Samsung phones ( it is taken as an example ), to flash a custom ROM and to customise your smart phone in a way you wish. Also it expand battery life also you can backup your system when you root it. Generally there is two main way to root your device:
1) bypass the device's security by unlocks the bootloader and or exploit android security of OS
2) Installing super user management android application .
Those two ways make each device to has its own root process depend on the manufacture the same brand actually have a common way of unlocking it.
In many computer operating system like Unix , Linux, and android root account is a special user with complete access of files and commands. In computer generally this account is called
account. That means if you have unrooted android device you drun in guest account or non administrator account and when you root it you enter administrator account. In the context of android root means to have access in all files and command. This mode was for developer in order for them to reach the inner system files and command but anyone who is interesting can use the root smartphone either to install custom ROM or any other uses. Note that with root access there is great chance to damage your phone by accidentally delete a system file or any other mistake so you need to be familiar with a root before decide to root your device. Android device come with a built in application which other a useful and other are note useful and sometimes they consume mobile data like adds lunch application in Samsung mobile which come built in in many Samsung android devices. Also there a some of application which come built in and you will never use them. Probably there is no way to install them for unrooted device but when you root your device you will be able to uninstall and expand your storage.

Rooting open the down to total backup data. The backup can be a user data or all android system and save it in external device for emergency restore of your smartphone when it break. This backup done by a application which need root access.
4. Expanding storage capacity.
Many early android device have a low storage capacity for installing application. On rooting you can use part of external removable disk ( memory card ) and change it to act as internal storage for application. This require a special android application whose require root access .

Custom ROM is the on which not come with a phone. Its a customised operation system and your can upgrade your android version. All those process requireva rooted device. On rooting only you can flash a custom ROM and make many changes in your android device.
There is no need to buy another phone with a new android version while you have a phone whose hardware specification approximate match with the one you want to buy. Just root it and upgrade to the beautifully customise new android version you wish.
